Made For Eternity is a website dedicated to our spiritual search for answers and affirmations of our divine and eternal value.
Dr. Walker-Walker is engaged in online ministry with a United Methodist background.
We further affirm that as Christians, indeed a diverse people, reflecting God’s diverse kingdom, we are called to be witnesses in a diverse world, to a diverse people with diverse needs, diverse issues, diverse questions, and diverse aspirations and expectations for both life and eternity. As we witness to God’s diverse people embedded in a diverse world, we are mindful that human cultural differences are not to be scoffed at or merely tolerated. They are to be accepted, respected, and celebrated. Worshipping and serving with diverse persons in diverse communities are the tasks of all Christians- pastors, worship leaders, laity, missionaries, pastoral caregivers, clinical pastoral care educators, and healthcare providers. Because we serve a diverse community, if we are to make any serious impression on the pluralistic society to which we are called to be witnesses for Christ, our missional goals need to be directed at inclusiveness rather than exclusiveness.
As the church is enriched by the diverse manifestations of God, so is our witness and service enriched by our embracing of the oneness of humanity. Knowing the diverse manifestations of God as Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier along with the many diverse attributes that our experiences of God have revealed, we cannot affirm the oneness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit if we deny the oneness of humanity for whom God sent Christ to redeem and prepare for His eternally diverse kingdom.
The kingdom of God is a kingdom where human brokenness can be mended. It is a kingdom and a state of existence where opportunities are always presenting themselves for building bridges and breaking down the walls that separate God’s diverse sons and daughters. Indeed, that bridge has already been built with the atoning and reconciling blood of Jesus through whom and by whom a diverse people can find their way back to God and back into healthy and transforming relationships with fellow humans. As we embark on our mission of reconciliation, forgiveness, and atonement in the world, then, we must be willing to accept and embrace human diversity.
